Welcome to Flipside Navigator, thanks for stopping by!
Hi I’m Rachael and I’ll be your hostess for this moment in time.
My passions in life are making music, travel, food, arts, crafts and trying new things.
Currently I live in London with my husband of 18 years, we have no children and gave up on the idea of trying for them last year, naturally there’s a lot of heartache in that little statement but that’s not what this blog is about. I’m looking on the bright side of the flipside and figuring out an alternate life path to the one I’d always assumed was for me.
We are about to sell our flat in London, and plan to do as many jaunts around the uk and Europe as we can before heading back to NZ towards the end of the year (after 20 years in the UK) via India/ Nepal/ Sri Lanka(?) we’re still hashing out the details and it may well change but that’s the idea!
This all sounds like a midlife crisis and I don’t deny we’re both kinda middle aged and looking to transition from stressed out city workers (in a rut) into a more relaxed and creative existence; I wouldn’t say ‘crisis’ is the term though, perhaps ‘redefine’…yeah, we’re having a ‘mid-life redefine’ as only the Peter Pan generation can.
As an ex-florist and wanna-be jewellery designer brought up in the rich island culture of NZ, the artisan crafts that help to define a culture fascinate me. As part of my travel’s my aim is to meet as many local crafts people as possible, feed my creativity and see where the journey takes me.
This is my lifestyle, this is my blog, come join me for the 2017-ride and see where it takes us!
