Been to Barcelona before? Ticked off all the usual tourist spots? Prefer to avoid tourists…whilst being one yourself? Check this out!
We rocked up half an hour early and one week late due to some user error with our booking but this was quickly resolved, then we set of for the most wonderful stroll around the city. There were only 4 people in our group (we all booked together) so basically we had a private tour.
Dago, our tour guide for the day was lovely, he gave us a few pointers on composition along the way, a bit of history and took us to some really cool parts of the city that we probably would never have discovered by ourselves. My personal favourite were the gothic area’s narrow ally-like streets lined with graffiti art.
We saw a gloriously decrepit church with its history quite literally burnt into its brickwork and stained glass windows to die for (or perhaps ‘covet’ if death is a step too far for you), the market was a mouth-watering bustle of glorious smells and scenes and the port was cool with its view of my super yacht’s….cause where else would I park them?
The pace of the day was great, I never felt rushed and got some great snaps. 3 of us only had camera phones and the other had a big-boy camera but we all thought it was a brilliant tour.
Having been to Barcelona before I thought this was a great tour to drill down a little deeper and get off the beaten track. The following day I was watching the slightly bored looking traditional tour groups trundle past and thanked ‘myself’ for not going there.
Urban Adventures have a great range of tours, I’ll certainly be open to trying more of them on my travels.
